I just want to make beautiful things
I don’t have space to store every piece I’d like to make
nor do I have the funds to make them independently.
I offer my creations to others to enjoy in exchange
for the ability to continue creating.
the work.
Meet Tim
…knowing that it's in you and you never let it out
is worse than blowing any engine or any wreck you'll ever have…
-Mike Cooley “Daddy’s Cup” (The Dirty South) 2004
Tim Ulmen is an artist who’s primary medium is wood. He grew in Spokane WA with lots of space to explore. Tim then made his way to Seattle University where he earned his engineering degree and soon became a licensed Structural Engineer. Work as an engineer while engaging never completely fulfilled Tim’s need to create.
He knew there was more.
When the opportunity to attend Red Rocks School of Fine Woodworking and gain his Fine Furniture Craftsman Certification presented itself, Tim made the shift to become a full time artist. He now happily works in his studio in Boise ID bringing one of a kind works of art to life.
